"Ready?" she asked. Tate swore she hid a smile. Yes, she probably loved the idea of causing him distress.

He nodded. Whitney placed one gloved finger at his brow to draw the wound taut, then carefully stuck the needle through the skin. Again, Tate didn't so much as flinch, even though the small prick hurt like hell.

After pulling the thread through the wound and tying it off, she snipped the end. "You doing okay?"

Hell, no, he wanted to shout. Having her this close between his spread thighs was much more torturous than any needle and thread going through his skin.
