…Noel slid a hand around her waist and pulled her against his body. He smothered her moan, deepening the kiss until she went limp in his arms. He ran his tongue from one corner of her mouth to the other, eliciting a sigh. When he plunged his tongue between her parted lips, he tasted the sweetness within their depths.
“I thought I told you no kisses without mistletoe.” Her lips curved into a devilish smile.
His gaze drifted to a spot above her head. Strung up against the center of the archway, a branch of mistletoe swayed. “We’re in luck.”
“An unexpected coincidence, I’m sure.” She gave him a wry smile before wrapping her arms around his neck, clinging to his body in a way that made him dizzy with lust.
He dragged his lips from hers, and his voice thickened with desire. “Maura…” Her name tasted rich and sinful on his lips. “I’m trying to restrain myself here, but…” He leaned in close, his lips brushing her ear. “I want to make love to you,” he breathed, rejoicing in the gasp of obvious excitement that escaped from her lips. “If you want me to back off, tell me now, because you’re making me crazy. Tell me, Maura… Tell me this is what you want.”
She answered his plea with breathless excitement. “I have never wanted anything more in my life than this moment with you.” She stared into his eyes, asserting her needs, taking what she wanted. “I’m not going to deny myself any longer. I want to be yours tonight, Noel. Make me yours.”
