Sukie de la Croix is a reporter, playwright, historian, and short story writer who leads a monastic existence of quietude in Chicago with his life-partner and two dogs. He is a life-long Buddhist who throws literary hand-grenades into stagnant waters and sits back in a lotus position to study the resultant chaos. His most recent ventures include two plays A White Light in God’s Choir and Two Weeks in a Bus Station With An Iguana for the Irreverence Dance Co. He writes two weekly columns for the Chicago Free Press: “Back in the Day” and “Midlife Crisis”. He is currently writing a history book called Chicago Whispers: GLBT’s Who Lived In, Loved and Visited the Windy City.
